Operation Homefront

Giving your time is very precious, it is something you can never get back. When I think of people who are giving of their time a soldier is definitely at the top of the list. I was in the Army, luckily at a time where I got to stay in the states. I was also married to a soldier, one who was gone A LOT. It is difficult. As much as I miss the military life I do not miss all of the "perks". They don't get paid a lot for what they do and what they give. When you sign your name you are signing your life away, in my words of course. You are telling the United States of America that your main purpose it to do what you need to do to keep America free, you will do what you need to do to make sure others don't have to do it without wanting too. The soldiers who sign their lives away mean my husband doesn't have to, your son doesn't have to, and you don't have to.

It is a Non Profit who just wants to make sure that soldiers and their families are taken care of. That their needs are being met while they are busy serving our country. When it comes to the military I have a love/hate. I am so gracious to those that have come before me and will come after me and have dedicated their time and lives to a good cause. It makes me sad that families have been split, that we have lost lives....and sometimes the only way we can say thank you is to give back. Give back monetarily, give back with gifts, or give our time. Think about giving back or just thank a soldier the next time you see one.
