Ha...I knew I should have never made the commitment of "31 days of...". I always think that if I make a commitment to something I don't already do that it will make me do it. And I wanted to become more of a blogger. Well, I have proved that life got in my way again. Funny thing is that when I was at my blogging high I was my busiest. Working 32 hrs a week, taking 12 units in college, classroom Mom for Ash, volunteering for Ethan's class, and attending Bible Study. Full schedule but yet I had the time to blog. Now I work 10 hrs a week...and take care of this 15 month old who requires a lot of my energy.
So where were we...Day 6 maybe?
CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County)
We have only had to make brief visits there but when I heard about Carson's heart condition and that he might have to have surgery I researched. Little kids in hospitals is just one of the saddest images to me. For Carson's 1st birthday party we asked for donations instead of gifts. We raised enough to buy a wagon for the children. If they have to be in a not so fun hospital they at least need some fun transportation. So a wagon it was. Another great way to donate...which I LOVE this. One of the speakers at Blog Sugar, Heather, started a "Joyful Life Library Project". You can go to their page and actually find books to donate. She realized that just reading a book to her child was both comforting to her and her family. I just think this is a great idea. Donate a book or two. Looks like we have an idea for Christmas gifts now.
